Involuntary urination

A child is considered to have bedwetting if he / she urinates while sleeping at least twice a month if he is over the age of five. This problem is common among children worldwide, but it’s considerably more prevalent in males than in females and it leads to many psychological problems for the child and parents, so the child feels a kind of shame and imperfection. For the parents, this problem affects their lives and may affect their relationship with the child.

Causes of bedwetting:

Determining the exact causes of this problem is not an easy matter, but doctors assume many hypotheses that are based on scientific basis such as:

Psychological reasons which are represented in stress, anxiety, disorder, fear and bad experiences.

Pathological causes, which are related to the presence of a defect in a function. That includes defects because of genetic causes as studies have shown that many children who suffer from this problem are originally children of parents who were suffering from this problem, both or one of them. There is also the possibility of the presence of a disorder in the bladder in terms of size or an impairment in the ability to send signals to the brain indicating the need to empty the bladder. It could also be a disorder of the bladder muscle, which controls the exit of urine from the urethra, or the ingestion of some diuretics, especially before bedtime, such as tea and coffee, taking some drugs that generate urine, as well as suffering from infections in the urinary tract such as the ureter, kidneys, bladder and urethra.

The best way to deal with the problem of involuntary urination.

Parents must know to go to the doctor to find out the cause of this problem; Some of them require medical procedures to treat it, but there are many ways to treat bedwetting.

The choice of treatment depends on many factors such as the patient’s age and family history. It may be normal for the kid to continue doing so into older age if the parents are.

The parents need to have the psychological ability to deal with such a problem in an ideal way until the child gets rid of it completely.
